Bootcamp Trainings Crete 2022

The first days of the online workshop on green entrepreneurship were successfully completed. The workshops are part of the GreenTecLab project “Empowering start-ups for climate protection”, organized by the German-Greek Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Kek Technical Schools of the Heraklion Chamber of Crete.

The digital seminars are for entrepreneurs, students, young scientists, representatives of organizations or businesses, unemployed people, producers, incubators, academic institutions, local groups, businesses, business consultants and start uppers.

Exciting topics around the topic of “green entrepreneurship” were presented at the workshops on the 5th and 6th of April.

On the first day, Silke Steinberg (CEO, fiap Research Institute) presented the GreenTecLab project – “Green and sustainable development”, followed by Antonis Papaderakis (Deputy Head of the Region in the field of Entrepreneurship, Trade, Innovation and Social Development), who represented the supporter/provider Region of Crete.

Michalis Katharakis (Director, KEK Technical Schools of Heraklion Chamber) presented the exciting topic “Green Entrepreneurship and innovation after the pandemic” and Nikos Bounakis, the CEO of Proactive AE- Business Consultants with his “Sustainable Rural Development”. There were also participating start-ups from GreenTecLab Crete 2021, such as Manos Velidakis, Creta Hinterland Group and Nectarios Fakidaris.

The second day began just as exciting as the day before. The director of the Heinrich Böll Foundation (supporter of GTL), Michael Goudis, introduced himself and the foundation. “Green Technologies and Innovation” were presented by Philippos Papadopoulos (Director of the Office of Strategic Programs of the American Farm School) and Korina Miliaraki (President of the Agrotourism Association of Crete) showed us some ideas for “Sustainable and ecological tourism”.
Silke Steinberg from the fiap Research Institute showed us “how to present your sustainable business idea successfully”. Michalis Katharakis (Director, KEK Technical Schools of Heraklion Chamber of Commerce), indicated his ideas on how to make a business plan and how to use the sustainable business model canvas properly.

Next week, from the 12th – 14th of April we will meet some representatives from our sponsors. The participants will learn how to make a business plan and the concept analysis of the business model canvas and also have a look at various methods to successfully present a business idea. Best practice start-up companies from Greece and from Slovakia will join us, we will also listen to some Businesses talk about entrepreneurship and sustainability and then it’s going to be all about the competition.
